Comfortable Company

I’ve been looking for inspiration

Or maybe just a bit of clarification

On how you stir these feelings of mine

That I long thought had no room to shine.

Maybe it’s the ease in how we talk to each other

And I’m hoping you don’t think I’m a bother

But being near you is a relaxing escape

Since my life is one needing to reshape

Your flowery, sweet, smell intoxicates my senses

And I’m hoping I’m not falling into love’s trenches

For I have been burned both by fire and ice

And every chance I take is a losing dice

So I’m biding my time, keepings these stone walls

Over my heart, not cracking until your love calls

And awakens it all, but please let us enjoy the company

We keep, and let these feelings grow in true harmony
