Bragging Rights

These hands have never crafted a masterpiece,

never held a treasure beyond believability,

never wrestled with the champion fighter,

never wrested glory from another’s grasp.

But these shaky hands have had the privilege

of holding your hands, of entwining fingers,

of knowing just who it was who grasped back.

There are few words for that.
